Privacy notice & POPIA

Kia-Kaha Mining (Pty) Ltd (“we”, “us”) is the responsible party for the personal information collected through this website. We are committed to processing it lawfully and transparently in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
What we collect
Through the quote-request and contact forms, and by email or WhatsApp:
- Your name, company, email address and telephone / WhatsApp number
- The mine, plant or project name and delivery location
- The product category, description and any machine or part details you provide
- Files you attach — requests for quotation, photographs, drawings, data sheets and equipment nameplates
- Basic technical data from your visit (see “Cookies and analytics”)
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We process this information to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quotation, source and supply product, and keep a record of the transaction. The lawful basis is the conclusion and performance of a contract with you or your organisation, our legitimate business interest in responding to enquiries, and your consent where you have given it on the form.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with operators who process it on our behalf under contract:
- Our website and database host (Supabase) and application host (Vercel)
- Our email delivery provider, used to notify our sales team of your enquiry
- Suppliers and manufacturers, only to the extent needed to obtain a quotation for your specific requirement
Some of these operators process data outside South Africa. Where that happens we rely on the recipient being subject to a law or agreement that provides an adequate level of protection.
How long we keep it
Enquiry and quotation records are retained for as long as needed for the business relationship and to meet tax and legal record-keeping obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Uploaded files are removed once they are no longer needed for the enquiry or resulting supply.
How we protect it
Form submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection. Uploaded files are stored in a private bucket that is not publicly accessible and is reachable only by our team. Access to the enquiry database is restricted.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy
- Ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate or no longer needed
- Object to processing, or withdraw consent, where processing relies on consent
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za

Cookies and analytics
The site uses privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics to understand aggregate traffic and page performance. It does not build advertising profiles. Where any non-essential cookie is introduced, we will ask for your consent first.
